Many ask us, 'What does Flotsam and Jetsam mean?'  Well the term comes from the nautical world where Flotsam refers to things floating in the sea and Jetsam means things that are thrown overboard or jettisoned.   Founded in 2021, Flotsam & Jetsam adopted that nautical theme and started as a small gift shop in the downtown. Over the last four years, we've expanded our product offerings and introduced new local artists with their unique crafts. From amazing pottery produced on Beals Island, to etched glassware and crafted wooden articles made from rare materials found in surrounding forests or on local beaches, Flotsam continues to offer amazing gift items.

Always Unusual and Nautical is what the gift shop is all about. Located at 182 Main Street in Jonesport. We are only open 10 AM to 4 PM on Fridays and Saturdays from May Day in the spring and to Labor Day weekend in the fall. We are also open at the beginning of December to celebrate the Christmas season. We always feature stuff you won’t find elsewhere. Our products feature affordable treasures and very special gift ideas.
